POMCHU: Who We Are
Welcome to POMCHU! We’re Ellie and Brett, and we’re excited to share the inspiration behind our brand and our dedication to bringing stylish, coordinated fashion to you and your beloved pet. Our journey began with our charming rescue dog, Frank—a Pomeranian-Chihuahua mix who has truly inspired us.
Frank joined our family from the New Zealand Chihuahua Rescue a little over two years ago. From the moment we saw his photo, we knew he was special. His unique personality and stylish demeanour earned him the nickname “the unicorn of Chihuahuas.” Frank’s charm and our passion for animals sparked the idea of creating POMCHU—a brand that celebrates the special bond between pets and their owners through beautiful, matching outfits.
While exploring pet accessories, we noticed a significant gap in the market: a lack of coordinated, timeless wardrobe options for both pets and their owners. We wanted to go beyond just matching colours; we aimed to design chic, everyday wear that would make both pets and their humans look fabulous together. That’s how POMCHU was born.
Our mission at POMCHU is twofold: to create stunning, timeless pieces that seamlessly integrate into your and your pet’s wardrobes, and to build a vibrant community of fashion-forward pet lovers. The Sherpa Collection, our debut line, emerged from our quest to find a harness that met our standards of comfort, style, and durability for Frank. Recognising the need for accessories that blend personal style with aesthetic appeal, we designed the Sherpa Collection in three neutral hues—brown, cream, and khaki. These colours were carefully chosen to complement all dogs and fit effortlessly into any wardrobe.
At POMCHU, we’re driven by our love for animals and our desire to create more than just products. We aim to foster a community where you and your fur-ever companion can celebrate your unique bond through fashion. Thank you for joining us on this stylish journey. We’re thrilled to see you and your beloved pet enjoying the elegance and comfort of POMCHU.
